Parmer County, Texas (March 29, 2022) – Three people were killed, and three others were injured on March 19 in a two-vehicle crash in Parmer County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 9:38 p.m., on US 60.

Authorities said a DPS trooper attempted a traffic stop on eastbound US 60, but the driver, Damian Javier Garcia,21, from Hereford, refused to stop and continued driving eastbound for about 18 to 20 miles.

Garcia crossed the median into the westbound lane and continued heading the wrong way on the westbound lane. He then collided with a westbound Jeep Wrangler.

Garcia was taken to the hospital, where he later died. His passengers, 16-year-old Angel Saenz and 15-year-old Jessie Castro, both from Clovis, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A GoFundMe page has been created to help the family with funeral expenses.

The Jeep driver and one passenger were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Another passenger was treated for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation
