Darion Jude Hendrick-Escobedo Killed in Bexar County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 90 near Highway 211

Bexar County, Texas (May 30, 2023) – The man who was killed early Monday morning in a wrong-way crash in Bexar County has been identified as Darion Jude Hendrick-Escobedo, 22, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The deadly accident happened around 1:00 a.m., May 29, on Highway 90 near Highway 211.

Deputies said a 39-year-old man was driving a pickup truck on the wrong side of the highway when he crashed head-on into Hendrick-Escobedo’s vehicle.

Hendrick-Escobedo was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Two children in his vehicle sustained minor lacerations.

The pickup truck driver is facing multiple charges, including intoxication manslaughter, two counts of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years old, and two counts of reckless injury to a child causing bodily injury. He will be booked and arrested following his release from the hospital.

The deputies are investigating the crash.
