Darrien Anderson Killed in Head-On Crash on SH 19 in Henderson County

Darrien Anderson Killed in Henderson County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 19

Henderson County, Texas (October 5, 2020) – Two people were killed in a head-on collision Friday morning in Henderson County near Athens, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened just before 10:00 a.m., October 2, on State Highway 19.

DPS said Darrien Anderson, 26, of Palestine, was driving a 2004 Toyota Corolla northbound and was cresting a hill while Lynsey Jaclyn Berger, 29, of Wills Point, was driving a 2014 Ford Fusion southbound and was also cresting the hill.

The Toyota crossed into the southbound lane and crashed head-on into the Ford.

Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Berger was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

A third vehicle driven by Shirley Kay Luttrell, 63, was damaged by the crash debris. Luttrell was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
