David Nelson Killed, Caleb Marsh Seriously Hurt in Wrong-Way Crash on Texas Highway 64 in Smith County

David Nelson Killed and Caleb Marsh Injured in Smith County Two-Vehicle Crash on Texas Highway 64 near Tyler
Smith County, Texas (January 1, 2019) – A man was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle crash which left another man injured on a Smith County highway, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash occurred just after 11:00 p.m. December 28, on Texas Highway 64, east of Tyler.
DPS said Caleb Marsh, 21, of Rusk, was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck westbound on the wrong side of the highway when he collided with an eastbound 2006 Ford Focus driven by David D. Nelson, 43, of Tyler.
Nelson was declared dead at the scene. Marsh was transported to UT Health – Tyler in serious condition.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
