Donnie Louise Johnson Killed in Smith County Pedestrian Accident on U.S. 69 near CR 4132

Smith County, Texas (September 12, 2020) – A woman was fatally hit by a vehicle Thursday night in Smith County, according to DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 9:25 p.m., September 10, on U.S. 69, just south of County Road 4132 (Elmwood Street).

DPS said Carolyn Nguyen, 29, of Tyler, was driving southeast on the highway when she struck Donnie Louise Johnson, 53, of Tyler, who was walking westbound across the roadway.

Johnson was killed in the crash.

Nguyen was uninjured in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
