Douglas Corrigan Killed and Barbara Hunt Injured in Goliad County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 183

Goliad County, Texas (January 21, 2022) – A Victoria man was killed Thursday morning in a head-on collision in Goliad County, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened around 7:09 a.m., January 20, on U.S. 183, north of Farm-to-Market Road 622 and 5½ miles from Goliad.

According to the report, Douglas Raymond Corrigan, 58, of Victoria, was driving a 2002 Ford F-150 truck and was delivering newspapers for the Victoria Advocate when he crossed the center stripe and collided with a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado truck driven by Barbara Lynne Hunt, 56, of Woodsboro.

The Ford went into a side skid and overturned while the Silverado went off the highway to the left and came to rest in a grassy ditch along the highway.

Corrigan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hunt was taken to Cuero Regional Hospital in stable condition.

The crash closed the highway to one lane. It was reopened around 10:00 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
