Runnels County, Texas (June 19, 2020) – According to a local news source, a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper was injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash near the Runnels County line.

The crash happened on June 18, on US 67 N.

DPS said the trooper was working routine patrol on the highway and was heading southbound on the highway. A van was also heading southbound at the time. The trooper made a U-turn at an improved turnaround to head northbound and didn’t see the van that was passing on the inside lane.

The van hit the trooper’s vehicle on the driver’s side door.

The van driver was treated and released at the scene.

The trooper was taken to Shannon Medical Center with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

We wish the injured victim a quick recovery.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
