Luis Torres Killed in Motorcycle Crash on U.S. 54 in El Paso

Luis Torres ID’d as Man Killed in El Paso Motorcycle Accident on U.S. 54 near Transmountian Off-Ramp

El Paso, Texas (April 18, 2022) – The motorcyclist who died Saturday night following a traffic crash in El Paso has been identified as Luis Baltazar Torres, 32.

The deadly crash happened at about 11:52 p.m. on April 16 on U.S. 54 near the Transmountian exit.

Police said Torres, a Fort Bliss resident, was riding his motorcycle northbound at a high rate of speed when he came up upon two vehicles, and he attempted to drive between them.

Torres lost control of his motorcycle and rear-ended a 2008 Honda Civic driven by 18 –year old Evan Israel Neria.

Torres was ejected from his motorcycle, and he landed on the landscaping rocks that separate US-54 and the Transmountain exit. He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were available.

The police are investigating the crash.
