Earl Unruh and Lenita Unruh Injured in Lamar County Plane Crash on Patriot Drive

Lamar County, Texas (July 18, 2021) – Two people were injured Saturday afternoon in a plane crash in Blossom, according to the DPS.

The crash happened around 4:00 p.m., July 17, on Patriot Drive.

DPS said an experimental two-seater cruiser crashed moments after taking off from a private airstrip.

The pilot, Earl Unruh, 66, and the passenger Lenita Unruh, 62, were taken to the Paris Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other details were provided.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
