Man Killed in Lufkin Pedestrian Accident at North Timberland Drive and Paul Avenue

Lufkin, Texas (December 6, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Lufkin, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 1:30 a.m., December 5, at the intersection of North Timberland Drive and Paul Avenue.

Police said a man was attempting to cross the intersection when he was struck by a car.

The car fled the scene after the accident.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. His name has not been released.

The vehicle was described as a 2006-12 Chevy Impala. It pulled into a Valero gas station down the street after the scene, but it didn’t return to the scene. A side mirror was recovered from the scene and was believed to come from the car.

The police are investigating the crash.
