Elizabeth Craven Killed, Michael Martin and Amanda Sandifer Injured in Wood County Two-Vehicle Crash on CR 3250 near Quitman

Wood County, Texas (August 2, 2021) – According to the Texas DPS, one person was killed, and two others were injured Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Wood County.

The fatal crash happened around 11:00 a.m., August 1, on CR 3250, about 4.7 miles southeast of Quitman.

DPS said a 2005 Dodge Stratus was traveling northbound while a 2020 Toyota Camry was traveling southbound.

For unknown reasons, the Dodge crossed over into oncoming traffic and crashed into the Toyota.

The Dodge driver, Elizabeth Craven, 38, of Quitman, was taken to UT-Health East Texas – Tyler, where she later died. 

A passenger in the Dodge, Michael Martin, 45, of Quitman, was also taken to UT-Health East Texas –Tyler and was listed in stable condition.

The Toyota driver, Amanda Sandifer, 39, of Quitman, was taken to UT-Health East Texas – Quitman in stable condition.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
