Eric Gomez Killed in Hudspeth County Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10

Hudspeth County, Texas (October 12, 2022) – A 23-year-old man was killed Monday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Hudspeth County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened just before 7:00 p.m., October 10, on Interstate 10, east of Sierra Blanca.

DPS said Eric Gomez, 23, of El Paso, was driving westbound on the right lane of the interstate when he veered onto the improved shoulder and rear-ended a stopped flatbed truck.

Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The flatbed truck driver, 35-year-old Dennis Tapia, was uninjured in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
