Erik Myers Killed in Potter County Pedestrian Accident on U.S. 87

Potter County, Texas (February 26, 2021) – One person was killed early Wednesday morning in a pedestrian accident in Potter County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 5:50 a.m., February 24, on U.S. 87, near the Potter and Moore County line.

DPS said Erik Myers, 40, of Florida, was walking in the northbound lane of the highway and was wearing dark clothing when he was struck by a van.

Myers was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident closed the northbound lanes of U.S. 87 for several hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
