Ernesto Aguilar Killed in Lubbock Two-Vehicle Crash on Southeast Drive

Lubbock, Texas (February 4, 2021) – Two people were killed in a head-on crash Tuesday morning in Lubbock, according to authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 9:00 a.m., February 2, in the 6900 block of Southeast Drive.

Authorities said Ernesto Aguilar, 57, was driving a tractor-trailer southeast while Augustin Vasquez, 41, was driving a box truck northwest. The vehicles then collided head-on.

Both Aguilar and Vasquez were taken to University Medical Center where they were pronounced dead.

No other details regarding the crash were provided.

The Major Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
