Ernesto Vega ID’d as Man Killed in Weslaco Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 1925 at Peach Street

Weslaco, Texas (July 3, 2019) – The man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday night in Weslaco has been identified as 71-year-old Ernesto Vega of Edinburg, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal crash happened at about 9:43 p.m. July 2, on FM 1925 at Peach Street.

DPS said a semi-tractor trailer, occupied by one male driver, was traveling eastbound on the highway while a red Ford F-150, driven by Vega, was heading westbound.

Vega failed to yield while turning left onto Peach Street and collided with the semi-tractor trailer.

Vega was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
