Fannie Moore Killed in Ellis County Three-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 34

Ellis County, Texas (December 16, 2020) – One person was killed, and another was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Ellis County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 3:06 p.m., December 14, on State Highway 34, one mile south of the Kaufman County line.

DPS said a tan 1999 Buick Century was traveling northbound while a white 1997 Ford Expedition was traveling southbound. A grey 2015 Ford F250 towing a black 2020 American Motors Corporation flatbed trailer was traveling behind the Expedition.

The Expedition slowed down, for unknown reasons, and was rear-ended by the pickup, causing it to veer into the northbound side and hit the Buick.

The Buick driver, Fannie Moore, 75, of Scurry, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Expedition driver, Alexander Jones, 24, of Ennis, was airlifted to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas with serious injuries.

The pickup driver, Marcus Adams, 30, from Spring, was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons for driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
