Floyd Hitzfield Fatal Car Crash Involving Bexar County Constable on Bandera Road in San Antonio

Floyd Hitzfield ID’d as Elderly Man Killed in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on Bandera Road
San Antonio, Texas (February 14, 2019) – The elderly man who was killed Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in San Antonio has been identified as Floyd Hitzfield, 86, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
The fatal crash happened at about 3:10 p.m. February 12, in the 7600 block of Bandera Road.
San Antonio police said a Bexar County Constable SUV was responding to a call heading Northwest on Bandera Road with its emergency lights on. The officer then saw an oncoming car on Southeast Bandera Road and stopped at the cut through.
The car driver proceeded across the northbound lanes, and the officer swerved in a try to avoid hitting the car.
The SUV then struck the passenger side of the car.
Hitzfield, who was a passenger in the car, was killed in the crash.
No further details were provided.
The police are conducting the investigation.
