Francisco Pena Killed in Abilene Two-Vehicle Crash on Industrial Boulevard at Oldham Lane

Abilene, Texas (October 9, 2019) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Abilene, according to the police.

The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. October 8, at the intersection of Industrial Boulevard and Oldham Lane.

Police said a Toyota Tundra was heading eastbound on Industrial Boulevard when it was broadsided by a Dodge Ram pickup that was hauling a trailer filled with concrete material at the intersection.

The Dodge continued heading southbound until it struck a utility pole and snapped in half. The trailer broke and struck the pickup cab.

31-year-old Francisco Pena, of Abilene, who was a passenger in the Dodge, was trapped in the vehicle and it took firefighters about two hours to extricate him.

Pena was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Police said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
