Frank Addison Killed, Kevin Graham Injured in Truck Crash on SH 64 in Smith County

Frank Addison Killed, Kevin Graham Injured in Smith County Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 64 at CR 212

Smith County, Texas (April 27, 2023) – One person was killed, and another was injured Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Smith County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 7:55 a.m., April 25, on State Highway 64 at the intersection of County Road 212, 2 miles east of Tyler.

DPS said Thomas Graham, 47, of Tyler, was driving a garbage truck with passengers Kevin Graham, 43, and Daniel Hiett, 54, both of Tyler and was stopped on CR 212. He attempted to turn westbound onto the highway but failed to yield the right of way and struck a westbound SUV driven by Frank Addison, 69, of Laneville.

Addison was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Thomas and his two passengers were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Kevin was taken to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. Thomas and Hiett were uninjured in the crash.

The weather was clear, and road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
