Fred Jolayemi ID’d as Man Killed in San Antonio Car Crash on I-10; Natalie Saldana Charged

San Antonio, Texas (January 3, 2020) – The man who was killed last month in a suspected DUI crash in San Antonio has been identified as Fred Jolayemi,36, of Arizona, according to the authorities.

The crash happened at about 3:20 a.m. December 22, on I-10 near Leon Springs.

Authorities said a family was traveling to Florida for the holidays when their car stalled out on the freeway due to an accident. A Bexar County sheriff’s deputy came to their aid. The deputy immediately called for a tow truck.

As the stalled vehicle was being loaded onto the tow truck, Natalie Saldana, 30, crashed into the patrol car. The child had been placed into the patrol vehicle to stay warm.

The impact caused the patrol car to flip over, and it landed on top of the two victims, pinning them underneath.

Jolayemi and his wife were pulled out from underneath the vehicle by the responding firefighters. They were both taken to the hospital where Jolayemi died on Christmas Eve.

Saldana was taken to University Hospital. She faces intoxication manslaughter charges.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover costs.

The crash remains under investigation.
