Gregory Trippe Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Mopac Expressway in Austin

Gregory Trippe ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Austin Motorcycle Crash on N Mopac Expressway near U.S. Highway 183

Austin, Texas (June 3, 2022) – The motorcyclist who died after being struck by a vehicle last week Thursday in north Austin has been identified as Gregory William Trippe, 59.

According to the Austin Police Department, the fatal crash happened at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, in the 8500 block on N. Mopac Expressway near U.S. Highway 183.

Police said Trippe possibly lost control, causing his motorcycle to fall. A vehicle attempted to swerve out of the way, but struck Trippe.

Trippe was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities temporarily blocked all southbound lanes following the wreck.

No further details about the collision were immediately provided.
