Halimatou Barry Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on I-635 in Mesquite

Halimatou Barry Killed in Mesquite Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 635

Mesquite, Texas (March 14, 2022) – Two people were killed early Sunday morning in a wrong-way crash in Mesquite, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened just after 5:45 a.m., March 13, on Interstate 635 near La Prada Drive.

Police said a Dodge Charger was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the highway when it crashed head-on into a Toyota Highlander.

Mesquite police said a Dallas officer had attempted to stop the wrong-way driver before the crash.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Highlander driver was identified as Halimatou Barry, 41.

The identity of the Dodge driver has not been released.

The police are investigating the crash.
