Holland Pickle Killed, Anand Lakhram Injured in Angus Crash on Interstate Highway 45
Angus, Texas (April 13, 2019) – One person was killed, and another was injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash near Angus, a local news source reported.
The fatal crash occurred on Wednesday, April 10, on Interstate Highway 45.
DPS said a white 2005 Volvo truck tractor with a white 2015 Wabash semi-trailer was heading northbound in the center lane of the freeway when it came to a stop due to construction directing traffic to merge from three lanes down to two. Holland Pickle, 53, of Streetman, was driving a white 2017 Dodge Ram utility truck northbound in the center lane behind the truck tractor when he failed to control his speed and rear-ended the big rig.
Pickle and Anand Lakhram, 44, of Winterville, North Carolina, who was driving the big rig, were taken to Navarro Regional Hospital where Pickle was later pronounced dead.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
