Innocent Driver Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash at Fairbanks Houston and Little York

Houston, Texas (March 30, 2022) – An innocent driver was injured early Tuesday morning after her car was struck by an officer who was involved in a chase in Houston, according to the police.

The crash happened just after 1:00 a.m., March 29, at the intersection of Fairbanks N. Houston and W. Little York.

Police said an officer saw a suspicious vehicle potentially involved in catalytic converter thefts. The vehicle ran a red light at the intersection, which led to the officer attempting to perform a traffic stop.

The suspect then pulled over and waited for the HPD officer to get close to the vehicle before speeding off. After six minutes of the pursuit, the officer crashed into an innocent female driver at the intersection.

The patrol vehicle caught fire after the crash, but the officer was able to get out safely.

The innocent driver was trapped in her vehicle, but she eventually made it out. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect got away, and the officers are still looking for him.

An investigation is underway.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation
