Jacob Lewis Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident at U.S. 59 and Shepherd Drive

Jacob Lewis ID’d as Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Vehicle at U.S. 59 and Shepherd Drive in Houston

Houston, Texas (April 24, 2023) – Authorities have identified the man who died after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Houston as Jacob Lewis.

The deadly crash happened at U.S. 59 and Shepherd Drive on Saturday, April 22.

Authorities said Lewis was returning from Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ concert at NRG Stadium with his sister when their car developed a mechanical problem and stalled in the northbound lane of U.S. 59 and Shepherd Drive.

Reportedly, Lewis was pushing the stalled-out car when a Volkswagen Beetle hit him.

Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Alan Bryant Hayes, fled the scene but was later arrested by police. Hayes was booked into custody for failure to stop and render aid and driving while intoxicated.

His bail was set $90,000.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
