Philip Marsh Killed, James Holman and Thomas Coleman Injured in Tyler Three-Vehicle Crash on SH 31 at CR 21

Tyler, Texas (November 27, 2021) – One person was killed, and two others were injured on Wednesday in a three-vehicle crash in Tyler, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on November 24, in the area of CR 21 and SH-31.

DPS said a 2011 Chevrolet HHR was traveling southbound on CR 21 approaching SH 31. It failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign, entered the SH 31 travel lanes, and was struck by a westbound 2020 Toyota Yaris.

The force of the impact pushed the Toyota into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by an eastbound 2009 Ford F-250.

The Toyota driver, Philip Marsh, 83, of Tyler, was pronounced at the scene.

The Ford driver, James Holman, 32, of Sanger, was treated and released at the scene.

The Chevrolet driver, Thomas Coleman, 27, of Overton, was taken to UT-Health East Texas – Tyler in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
