Jaime Junior, Andres Botello, and Jose Cepeda Killed in Jim Hogg County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 16

Jim Hogg County, Texas (November 9, 2023) – Three people were killed on Wednesday in a head-on collision in Jim Hogg County, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened on November 8, on Highway 16.

DPS said a pickup truck was traveling westbound on the highway when it failed to drive in a single lane, crossed over into the eastbound lane, and collided head-on with a Victorious Care Ambulance.

The pickup truck driver, Jaime Barrera Junior, the driver of the ambulance, Captain Andres Botello, and Firefighter/EMT Jose Guadalupe Cepeda, a passenger in the ambulance, were killed in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
