James Porter Injured in Motorcycle Crash on FM 357 in Polk County

James Jadell Porter Injured in Polk County Motorcycle Crash on FM 357 near Rowell Ranch Road

Polk County, Texas (March 1, 2023) – A former Lufkin police officer was injured Saturday morning in a motorcycle crash in Polk County, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened around 10:48 a.m., February 25, on FM 357, near Rowell Ranch Road.

DPS said James Jadell Porter, 69, of Lufkin, was traveling eastbound in a yellow 2010 Honda Gold Wing 1800 when he was struck by a white 2022 Hyundai Palisade driven by Samantha Sailer Harris, 29, of Moscow.

Porter was taken to a Houston hospital with multiple injuries.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
