Jayshu Carter Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 96 in Jasper County

Jayshu Carter Hospitalized after Jasper County Crash on Highway 96 near Recreational Road 255

Jasper County, Texas (April 1, 2023) – A Jasper woman was hospitalized after a two-car accident late Saturday morning in Jasper County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened just before noon on Highway 96, just south of Recreational Road 255, in front of Solly’s Liquor Store.

DPS said a 2013 Toyota Camry, driven by Carter, pulled out onto the roadway, directly into the pathway of a 2003 Toyota 4Runner sport utility vehicle that was heading northbound.

Firefighters responded to the scene and pulled Carter out of the vehicle. She sustained serious injuries and was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

The driver of the 4Runner and his passenger were treated at the scene.

No other information was immediately provided.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
