Jean Zihalirwa Killed in Abilene Two-Vehicle Crash on South First Street
Abilene, Texas (June 3, 2021) – According to the police, one person was killed, and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in South Abilene.
The fatal crash happened around 6:00 a.m., June 2, in the 5300 block of South First Street.
Police said Jean Paul Zihalirwa, 53, was driving a Honda westbound while a Toyota Tacoma was also travelling westbound.
Zihalirwa tried to make a left turn off the roadway towards the center median, and the Honda was struck by the Tacoma.
Zihalirwa was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger and the Tacoma driver were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
