Montgomery County Deputy Injured in New Caney Two-Vehicle Crash on Loop 494

New Caney, Texas (July 3, 2021) – A Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy was injured Friday night in a crash involving a suspected drunk driver in New Caney, according to the authorities.

The crash happened at about 11:00 p.m., July 2, on Loop 494.

Authorities said the deputy was inside his cruiser and was stopped at the dead-end of the road while using his laptop computer when a suspected drunk driver crashed into his vehicle.

The force of the impact caused the other vehicle to crash into a guardrail and the laptop to strike the deputy in the face.

The deputy sustained a broken nose and two black eyes.

The suspected drunk driver attempted to fight the deputies during his arrest. He was taken to the Montgomery County Jail.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
