Jeffrey Dalton Aynesworth, Payton Joseph Raymond Killed in Charter Bus Accident on Toll Road 49 in Tyler

Jeffrey Dalton Aynesworth and Payton Joseph Raymond ID’d as Two Killed in Tyler Bus Crash  on Toll Road 49 near U.S. Highway 69 South
Tyler, Texas (March 11, 2019) – The two people who were killed early Sunday morning in a head-on collision involving a charter bus and a pickup truck in Tyler has been identified as Jeffrey Dalton Aynesworth, 22, of Rusk, and Payton Joseph Raymond, 24, of Flint, according to police.
The deadly crash was reported at about 4:11 a.m. Sunday, March 10 on Toll Road 49, approximately, a quarter-mile east of U.S. Highway 69 South.
Authorities said a Chevy Z-71 pickup occupied by Aynesworth and Raymond, was heading eastbound on Toll 49 when for an unknown reason it veered into the westbound lane and collided head-on with an ECHO Charter Bus that was traveling westbound on Loop 49.
The pickup then veered off the roadway after the impact. Aynesworth and Raymond died at the scene.
The bus was carrying 32 occupants: 1 driver, 6 adults, and 25 students who were from Brook Hill School returning from Orlando Florida. A total of five occupants of the bus including the driver, two adults and two students sustained minor injuries and were taken to UT Health- Tyler.
The crash remains under investigation.
