Jeffrey Scheller ID’d as Man Killed in Decatur Pedestrian Accident on US 380

Decatur, Texas (January 6, 2019) – The man who was struck and killed by a big rig Thursday morning near Decatur has been identified as Jeffrey Scheller, 27, of Decatur, according to the Wise County Sheriff’s Office.
The deadly accident occurred at about 8:45 a.m. January 3, on US 380 in front of the Imperial Group Manufacturing.
Authorities said Scheller walked into the roadway and was hit by an 18-wheeler traveling eastbound on US 380.
Emergency crews responded to the incident but Scheller was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the report, Scheller was an employee of Imperial and had been working prior to the accident.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was unhurt and remained at the scene of the crash.
The police are conducting the investigation into the incident.
