Jermaine Nord Hit, Killed by 18-Wheeler on I-27 in Lubbock County

Jermaine Nord Killed in Lubbock County Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 27 near CR 5400

Lubbock County, Texas (November 29, 2023) – A man was hit and killed by an 18-wheeler Wednesday morning in Lubbock County near New Deal, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 2:57 a.m., in the northbound lanes of Interstate 27 near County Road 5400.

DPS said Jermaine William Nord, 32, of Clovis, New Mexico, was previously involved in a crash in the area and moved his vehicle from the center median to the outside travel lane. He was then struck by an 18-wheeler driven by Brandon Brown, 38, of Tulia.

Nord was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other information was available.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
