Jesus Eduardo Cabral Killed in Hudspeth County Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10 near Fort Hancock

Hudspeth County, Texas (January 2, 2022) – One person was killed, and ten others were injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Hudspeth County, six miles east of Fort Hancock, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 4:00 p.m., December 31, on Interstate 10.

DPS said Khushpal Singh, 24, of Fresno, California, was driving a semi-truck westbound at an unsafe speed for the weather and roadway conditions when he went over the center median into the eastbound lanes and hit an oncoming recreational vehicle.

The RV was carrying 10 people, including three children, from an El Paso and Juárez family.

Jesus Eduardo Cabral, 36, of El Paso, who was a passenger in the RV, was killed in the crash.

The other nine people in the RV were taken to University Medical Center of El Paso. Six were hospitalized in serious condition. They were identified as Eduardo Cabral, 59, and Monica Cabral, 51, both of El Paso, Jose Manuel Ambriz, 49; Lizhet Pacheco, 40; Christian Ambriz, 16; Leo Gallegos, 27; Denisse Gallegos, 28; Giselle Gallegos, 9, and Ania Gallegos, 4, all from Juárez.

Singh was taken to UMC with a non-incapacitating injury.

The crash remains under investigation.
