Jesus Romo Jr. Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Loop 250 in Midland

Jesus Romo Jr. ID’d as 1 Killed in Midland Crash on Loop 250 near Midland Drive

Midland, Texas (January 27, 2023) – The person who died following a traffic accident on Thursday night in Midland has been identified as 37-year-old Jesus Romo Jr. of Midland.

The crash happened at around 10:47 p.m. on January 26 on the westbound entrance ramp of Loop 250, just west of Midland Drive.

Authorities said Romo Jr. was driving the wrong way in the westbound lanes of the north service road of Loop 250 without his headlights on when his vehicle jumped the grass median and service road of Loop 250.

Romo’s vehicle then traveled back into the north service road heading in the wrong direction. The vehicle then went to the exit ramp of Loop 250 and continued driving in the wrong direction of the westbound lanes.

Romo’s vehicle was then struck by a truck that was entering the westbound ramp of Loop 250 while it tried to exit on the entrance ramp.

Romo Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
