Joe Serhan, Joyce Serhan Killed in 7-Car Crash on I-10 in Rose City

Joe Serhan and Joyce Serhan Killed in Rose City Seven-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10

Rose City, Texas (April 21, 2022) – Two people were killed on Wednesday in a seven-vehicle crash in Rose City, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash occurred on April 20, on Interstate 10, at mile marker 858.

DPS said a 2004 Ford SUV was traveling in the inside lane of the interstate when its back left tire blew out. The driver of the Ford SUV lost control and was hit by a 2015 Dodge pickup that was traveling in the center lane.

A 2019 Ford pickup, a 2020 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer, a 2006 Toyota passenger car, a 2021 Hyundai passenger car, and a 2018 Dodge pickup were also involved in the crash.

The driver and passenger of the Hyundai passenger car were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as 77-year-old Joe Serhan and 79-year-old Joyce Serhan, both of Westminster, Colorado.

The driver of the 2004 Ford SUV, 42-year-old Jamie McKeown of Butler, Missouri, was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the 2006 Toyota passenger car, 54-year-old Belinda Lemen of Orange, was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the 2015 Dodge pickup, 72-year-old Charles Gravenmier of Vidor, was uninjured.

The driver of the 2019 Ford pickup, 73-year-old Etta Robbins of Dayton, was uninjured.

The driver of the Peterbilt, 63-year-old Willard Taylor of Houston, was uninjured.

The driver of the 2018 Dodge pickup, 29-year-old Devlin McLaurin of Kirbyville, was uninjured.

The crash closed the westbound lanes of the interstate, but they have since been reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
