John D. Scull and Carolyn Hooker Scull Killed in Center Plane Crash on Highway 7 near Center Municipal Airport

Center, Texas (May 22, 2020) – Two people were killed Wednesday evening in a plane crash in Center, according to the FAA.

The crash was reported around 4:40 p.m. May 20, near Highway 7, just south of the Center Airport.

FAA said a single-engine Cessna 206 aircraft was on final approach to land at the airport when it crashed into a wooded area behind Watson and Sons Funeral Home, about a quarter-mile south of the airport.

The pilot, 73-year-old John D. Scull, and his passenger 81-year-old Carolyn Hooker Scull, both of Tenaha, were killed in the crash.

The FAA is investigating the crash.
