Johnnie Comeaux Killed, Robin Anderson and Cartresia Herd Injured in Rose City Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10

Rose City, Texas (December 30, 2021) – A woman was killed, and four other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Rose City, according to troopers.

The fatal crash happened on Interstate 10 West at mile marker 857, just west of the Asher Turnaround.

Troopers said Johnnie Comeaux, 47, was driving a 2016 Chrysler passenger car when she failed to control her speed and rear-ended a 2010 Chrysler passenger car that was traveling westbound in the outside lane.

Comeaux was taken to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she later died.

The driver of the 2010 Chrysler, Robin Anderson, 20, was taken to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth for treatment. The three passengers in the 2010 Chrysler, 47-year-old Cartresia Herd, and two children, were taken to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth for treatment.

The crash closed all and then part of the interstate.

The crash remains under investigation.
