Joseph Reyna Killed in Galveston Car Crash at 7th Street and Broadway

Galveston, Texas (October 22, 2019) – A man was killed Sunday night in a two-vehicle crash involving a city of Galveston Island Transit tourist bus in Galveston, according to the officials.

The crash happened at about 10:00 p.m. on October 20, at the intersection of 7th Street and Broadway.

Officials said the bus was heading westbound on Broadway when it made a left turn southbound onto 7th Street. Joseph Reyna, 30, was driving an Accord eastbound in the left lane and hit the bus at the intersection.

The impact pinned the Accord under the bus.

Reyna was taken to John Sealy Hospital at the University of Texas Medical Branch where he was declared dead.

The trolley driver was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

There were no passengers on board the bus at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
