Jonathan Perez Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 80 in Forney

Jonathan Perez ID’d as Driver Killed in Forney Crash on U.S. 80

Forney, Texas (July 26, 2023) – The driver who died following a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Forney has been identified as Jonathan Perez, 33, of Arlington

The deadly crash happened at around 2:33 a.m. on July 23 on U.S. 80, about 47 miles west of Forney

Authorities said Perez was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 80 when his   2019! Cadillac CTS collided head-on with a 2017 Volkswagen Passat, driven by a 40-year-old Forney resident

Perez died at the scene. The driver of the Passat sustained non-capacitating injuries and was taken to Parkland Hospital in Dallas

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. The road conditions were dry and the weather conditions was clear with some clouds. The speed limit in the area is 70 mph

The crash remains under investigation.
