Jorge Iglesias Hit, Killed by Vehicle on SH 48 in Cameron County

Jorge Iglesias ID’d as Man Killed in Cameron County Pedestrian Accident on State Highway 48 near Chemical Road

Cameron County, Texas (April 14, 2022) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the man who died after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday night in Cameron County as Jorge Jesus Iglesias, 42, of Edinburg.

The deadly crash happened at about 9:30 p.m. on April 13 on State Highway 48 near Chemical Road.

According to the DPS, Iglesias was walking on the roadway when he was hit by a 2003 blue Ford Ranger, driven by an unidentified man.

Iglesias’s vehicle had stalled on the side of the road and was trying to retrieve gasoline. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
