Jose Delao Killed in Odessa Two-Vehicle Crash on West 42nd at Golder

Odessa, Texas (August 19, 2023) – One person was killed on Friday in a two-vehicle crash in Odessa, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on August 18, at the intersection of the 700 block of West 42nd and Golder.

Authorities said a black 2019 Nissan Altima was traveling eastbound on 42nd while a green 2004 Nissan Altima was traveling northbound on Golder.

The black Nissan ran a red light at the intersection and hit the green Nissan.

The driver of the green Nissan, 83-year-old Jose Delao of Odessa, was taken to MCH, where he later died. His passenger was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
