29-Year-Old Jose Enrique Nieves Osorio Killed, Fernando Jose Vega Injured in Runnels County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 153
Runnels County, Texas (March 15, 2020) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Runnels County, west of Winters, according to the authorities.
The fatal crash happened at about 7:48 a.m. March 14, on Highway 153 at Poe corner.
DPS said a 2004 Ford Explorer driven by Fernando Jose Vega, 18, of Buda, Texas, was traveling eastbound on the highway while Jose Enrique Nieves Osorio, 29, of Winters, was driving a 2011 Chrysler 200 westbound.
The vehicles then collided on a curved portion of the roadway.
Osorio was pronounced dead at the scene.
Vega was taken to North Runnels hospital in a stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
