Juan Flores Killed in Amarillo Three-Vehicle Crash at Lakeside Drive and Interstate 40

Amarillo, Texas (December 7, 2023) – A man was killed Wednesday night in a three-vehicle crash in Amarillo, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 10:50 p.m., December 6, at Lakeside Drive and I-40.

Police said a black Ford Mustang and a green Chevy Camaro were racing side-by-side on Lakeside when they hit the trailer attached to a semi, which was pulling out of the Toot ‘n Totum parking lot onto Lakeside. Both cars became wedged underneath.

The Mustang driver, 21-year-old Juan Jose Flores, Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Camaro driver sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
