Juan Salgado Killed and Juan Salgado-Alvarez Injured in Tarkington Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 105 near FM 2518 

Tarkington, Texas (September 29, 2020) – Three people were killed, and two others were injured in a head-on collision Saturday night in Tarkington, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on September 26, on SH 105.

DPS said Francisco Rivera-Rosas, 33, of Houston, was driving a black Chevrolet pickup westbound when he attempted to pass an 18-wheeler and collided head-on with an eastbound black Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Timothy Gannon, 56, of Saratoga. 

Rivera-Rosas and Gannon were killed in the crash. 

Juan Salgado, who was the backseat passenger in Rivera-Rosas’ vehicle, was also killed in the crash.

There were two other passengers in Rivera-Rosas’ vehicle, his 15-year-old son who was uninjured and Juan Salgado-Alvarez, 43, of Houston, who was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston with serious injuries.

Gannon’s wife, Kimberly, 57, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
