Juan Sapon and Martha Sapon Killed in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on South Gessner near Neff; Alessio Bevinetto Arrested

Houston, Texas (December 25, 2021) – An adult and a child were killed Friday night in a hit-and-run crash in southwest Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash occurred around 8:40 p.m., December 24, in the 7100 block of South Gessner near Neff.

Police said Juan Sapon was at a stop sign in his Camry, and he attempted to drive across the road and was struck by a speeding pickup truck driven by Alessio Bevinetto, 20.

Juan and his juvenile passenger, Martha Sapon, were ejected and were pronounced dead at the scene. 

Bevinetto fled the scene on foot. He was arrested and was given a $20,000 bond combined for both charges.

Investigators said alcohol was a likely factor in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
