Juan Vasquez ID’d as Man Killed in Houston Car Crash on Gulf Freeway (I-45) near Tanger Outlets

Houston, Texas (March 24, 2019) – The driver who was killed early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash on a Houston freeway has been identified as Juan Antonio Vasquez, 25, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash occurred at about 4:30 a.m. March 23, in the 5000 block of Gulf Freeway (Interstate 45) near Tanger Outlets.
Officials said a Cadillac driven by Vasquez had mechanical issues and was stalled in the middle lane of the freeway when a pickup truck crashed into it.
Officials said the pickup driver didn’t see the Cadillac before crashing into it.
Vasquez was declared dead at the scene.
A portion of Gulf Freeway south from Holland Road to FM 1764 was closed following the crash.
Officers said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
