Karmyn Aleman Injured in Texarkana Car Crash on Interstate 30 near Leary

Texarkana, Texas (November 6, 2021) – Karmyn Aleman, 30, of Hooks, was injured after a traffic collision that left a child dead Thursday afternoon in Texarkana, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash was reported at about 3:20 p.m. Thursday, November 4, on Interstate 30, just west of Leary.

DPS said a 2021 Freightliner truck-tractor hauling a trailer was heading westbound on Interstate 30 in the right lane when it slowed down due to road construction. A 2006 Jeep Liberty traveling behind the Freightliner failed to slow down and crashed into the back of the trailer.

A female juvenile passenger in the Jeep was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Another juvenile passenger in the Jeep was treated for their injuries and released.

Aleman, who was the driver of the Jeep, was treated for minor injuries and released.

The driver of the Freightliner was unhurt in the collision.

No further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.

Commercial trucks are known to cause over 90% of accidents in Houston. These truck drivers must understand that their actions majorly contribute to most of the accidents on the roads. It is also important for others on the same roads with the truck drivers to understand that maximum precaution should be taken while driving near trucks. While small mistakes like ignoring the turn signal prior to turning may cause accidents, major causes of these accidents are rooted in other factors like exhaustion on the part of truck drivers. If the reasons for the crash are anchored to the failure of following the right turn or driving at a speed that is not legally recommended, a personal injury lawyer or a wrongful death lawyer will be useful in such scenarios.

If you have lost a loved one in an accident with a huge truck, it is advisable to get a lawyer who will facilitate the process of compensation.
