Kayla Zan, Dion Joshua and Ja’Quon Cordarius Killed in Falls County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 53 near Rosebud

Falls County, Texas (June 3, 2023) – Three people were killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in rural Falls County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:05 a.m., June 1, on Highway 53, approximately six miles west of Rosebud.

DPS said a Honda Accord was traveling eastbound when it crashed into an oncoming Hyundai Sonata while attempting to pass a vehicle.

The Hyundai driver, 40-year-old Kayla Zan of Bremond, and passenger, 28-year-old Dion Joshua of Columbus, Georgia, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The Honda driver, 28-year-old Ja’Quon Cordarius of Columbus, Georgia, was transported to Baylor Scott and White in Temple, where he was later pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
